Bernard "Bernie" Bernstein is currently the managing partner of Bernstein & Rathman, Inc., a Certified Public Accounting firm in Pomona, California. The firm was founded in 1984 with his partner, Richard J. Rathman. Bernie has twenty four years of experience in public accounting. He has worked with Kevin Tuttle for over seven years and they share several mutual clients.
Bernie is involved with many boards of directors of non-profit organizations throughout the Inland Empire in Southern California. Bernie is a current board member of a number of organizations including the Rotary Club of Pomona, Pomona Valley Hospital Medical Center, American Red Cross-Pomona Chapter, and the Los Angeles County Fair Association. He is also a trustee for the Cal Poly Associates, Fairplex Child Development Center and the Pomona Valley Hospital Foundation.
He has been the president of the Pomona Chamber of Commerce, Pomona Jaycees, California Junior Chamber of Commerce, California Jaycee Foundation, and Rotary Club of Pomona. He is a past chairman of the Pomona Valley Hospital Foundation and a past trustee of the Leroy Haynes Foundation. He has also served as a director of the Inland Valleys Resource Center and the United States Junior Chamber of Commerce.
Bernie has served on the Investment Committee for the City of Pomona, and currently serves on the Finance Committee for the Leroy Haynes Center, the Finance Committee for the Pomona Valley Workshops, the Fairplex Foundations Committee and the Los Angeles County Fair Strategic Planning Committee.
Bernie received Pomona’s Community Service Award in 2001. He received the Pomona Chamber President’s Award in 1994 and Small Business of the Year in 1996. He received the Jaycees’ Distinguished Service Award in 1995 and Five Outstanding Young Californians in 1995.
Bernie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from California Polytechnic University in Pomona, CA.
