Key Point:

The ISM Manufacturing Survey is the first economic report that is issued every month that sheds light upon how the economy has fared in the last four weeks. Essentially, the ISM survey measures the demand for manufacturing products by tracking the orders for production material and supplies.

*Special Note: The ISM also produces a Non-Manufacturing Survey every month. However, it is released two business days later and does not have nearly the same impact on the markets.
